  1. Sluggish after a few sleep->wake cycles

I have noticed that after a few sleep->wake cycles everything starts getting sluggish. Alt-tabbing, opening context menus, just doing stuff in applications in general, explorer, etc. Everything becomes slower. A restart gets everything back to normal snappiness.

    Any ideas?

PC Sluggish After Waking From Sleep

Alright, I did a reset on my PC but kept the personal files instead of the apps and programs.

My PC is no longer sluggish when booting up from sleep.

If I go to my motherboard's manufacturer's website and install the System & Chipset drivers, my PC begins to be sluggish again after waking it up from sleep.

I decided to hold off of this to fix the issue, but my audio is still choppy even when waking it from sleep. I've already installed their latest audio driver released 2 days prior.

Could it be that their drivers are not compatible with my current Windows build? My current windows build 1703, or the one prior to the 1709 update at least.

Any help would be great, thanks.

    Thank you for the update.

"Could it be that their drivers are not compatible with my current Windows build?" - Yes, there's a possibility that's why you're experiencing some performance issue.

Another thing, some users have reported that the possible reason why their computers are sluggish is fast startup (enabled by default). We may try disabling the fast startup, then check if the issue will still occur. To do so, please follow the steps below:

    • Open Power Options.
    • Click Choose what the power buttons do.
    • Under Shutdown settings, uncheck Turn on fast startup (recommended).
    • Click Save changes.

And we also suggest checking the Processes and Performance in Task Manager if you feel your computer is sluggish.

We would appreciate an update about how it went.

wake from sleep issue in windows 10

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your reply. Apologize for the delay in response.

I suggest you to check which devices are configured to wake up the computer from sleep by following the steps below:

    • Right click on Start icon and select Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Type the command line below:
    Powercfg /devicequery wake_armed

    3. Check if the devices (Keyboard, Mouse, Ethernet cable) are listed.

If the system is not going to sleep and going to Hybernate, the only option to wake up is to press the Power button.

    Hope the information is helpful.
