Windows 10: small .jpeg and .AAE files sizes are corrupted on windows11 pro.

Hi ,I have copied some jpeg files from my iphone to my lenovo thinkpad where I have Windows 11 Pro. For 4 kb file its showing size 96GB and effectively for small size of folder its showing size 743 TB. I am unable to transfer this data to another device. I can not loose my important files and images. I need urgent fix for this, Please guide me that how I can fix this ?Thanks !

.aae corrupted pictures

Actually *.aae files are not the images. They are edits to images. See
https://fileinfo.com/extension/aae It's my understanding that *.aae files are just XML, so you should be able to open them using Notepad, but you won't be able to use the information.

You should have files that have the same names as the *.aae files but with *.jpg extensions. If you don't, it seems as if you saved the wrong thing.

Corrupted file RAR

If the archive has been created using WinRAR, why don't you try WinRAR itself? It has a built-in repair feature for repairing corrupted archive (ZIP as well as RAR). Follow the steps given below:

• Open WinRAR application in your system.
• Now click on File tab > Open or simply press Ctrl+O.
• A small window "Find Archive" will pop up. Locate the corrupt RAR archive from your system directory and select it.
• Now click Open button.
• Click Tools tab > Repair archive or simply press Alt+R.
• Again a small window "Repairing File name.rar" will pop up.
• Now click Browse to select a location to save the repaired archive.
• Check the box "Treat the corrupt archive as RAR" and click OK.
• WinRAR will start repairing of corrupt RAR archive. Once it gets completed click Close.

I hope the above steps will help you repair the corrupted RAR archive.

Playing .AAE files

Hi Willard

An AAE file does not actually contain any image data, it contains a list of edits made to a photo on an Apple device . . .

If you right click that file and choose Open With - Choose another App - Notepad

Does that file open in Notepad with just <XML tags> that look like code?
