    Method 1: Run the Playing Audio Troubleshooter.

    This troubleshooter is an automated Windows 10 inbuilt tool which finds and fixes the common issues with the Playing Audio settings. Perform these steps to run this tool and check if that helps.



    1. Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.

    2. Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.

    3. Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.

    4. Run the playing Audio troubleshooter.

    Method2: If the issue persists uninstall and reinstall the smart audio driver and check if that helps.

    • Press Windows Key + R, type devmgmt.msc and press enter.
    • Search for the Conexant High Definition SmartAudio Drivers, right click on it and then select “Uninstall”.
    • On the un-installation window, if you have an option: “Delete the driver software for this device” you may select that and then remove the corrupted drivers from the computer.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete it and the restart the computer if prompted.
    Once you restart the computer, install the latest version of the Conexant High Definition Smart Audio Drivers from the manufacturer’s website and check the issue.

    • Since when did the issue started appearing?

    • Have you made any changes in settings prior to the issue?
    I suggest you to perform the below troubleshooting steps and check if it resolves the issue.

    Method 1: Audio Troubleshooter

    Method 1: Run inbuilt audio troubleshooter and check if it works. Follow the steps given below.


    • Press Windows Key +R, type Control Panel.

    • Type troubleshooting in the search bar, click on troubleshooting.

    • Now click on view all option.

    • Click on Playing audio and follow the prompts to run the troubleshooter.


    Note: If your computer is having problems playing sound, try using the Playing Audio troubleshooter to fix the problem. It checks for common problems with your volume settings, your sound card or driver, and your speakers
    or headphones.

    Check if it helps.

    • Type troubleshooting on the search box.
    • Click View all.
    • Select Recording Audio.
    • Follow the steps to troubleshoot Recording Audio.
