Windows 10: Snip & Sketch bug. ScreenClippingHost.exe does not work.

After restarting my computer I can take screenshots with Snip & Sketch app. I can do it inside the app or using Windows + Shift + S. However, after a couple of usages, it starts bugging.

I can open the app but when I clicked New it only minimizes the app and shows a loading symbol just next to my cursor for two seconds then nothing. When I use Windows + Shift + S it does the same thing, shows a loading symbol just next to my cursor for two seconds and then nothing happens. After I restart my computer and the problem is gone for two or three tries but then the bug returns.

When I use Windows + Shift + S, I can see an application named ScreenClippingHost.exe opens for 2 seconds and turn itself off. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the app, but nothing changed.

Snip & Sketch and Windows + Shift + S are my favorite Windows things. It's the most efficient shortcut for me. Is there anything I can do to solve this? Or do you think I can report it to Windows to solve?

My operating system is Windows 10 Pro 21H2 19044.1586

Thank you for updating me that information. If you mean the snip and sketch? Based on your description the snipping tool is crashing?

Please try to reset Snip and Sketch

Press Start then search Apps and Features

Select Snip and Sketch on the list

Click Terminate then Reset

If it doesn't work, Please try to create a new administrator account then check if everything is working.

Snip & sketch

As I mentioned in my post, neither "snipping tool" which works and "snip & Sketch" (which doesn't) show up in the Apps list. If I try to install, Microsoft replies that I already have it (thus preventing me from installing again).

 

Snip and Sketch Awkward

Use Windows+shift+s to launch Snip and Sketch. Can snip a screenshot.

Now the problem is this: after snipping the screen shot, it does not automatically appear in the Snip and Sketch app. So I open Snip and Sketch and there's nothing on it.

So I have choose 'new' and snip the screen yet again.

I recall using this once and taking a screenshot and voila! Snip and Sketch appeared with the screen shot duly in the app's workspace, ready for annotations and saving etc. This facility has disappeared. I have re-set it according to instructions, and even
reinstalled it - yet the problem persists.

Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks
