Windows 10: Snip & Sketch keeps becoming the default image viewer app, overriding my settings.

Coming from this question, I manually changed all image formats to open with paint.net. But after around 2 weeks, it changed back to snip and sketch. At this point I'd have most likely deleted snip and sketch, just as I did with Windows Photos, since they did the same, but unlike Windows Photos, I actually use snip and sketch.What can I do so that this app can no longer change the settings of my PC and setting itself as the default image viewer?

Snip & Sketch keeps overriding clipboard

I have my Snip & Sketch app configured to NOT automatically copy snips to the clipboard, but it keeps copying them automatically to the clipboard. I have rebooted the computer, but the issue persists. I would like this app to not automatically override my
clipboard with new snips.

Here are the few steps you can try to fix the issue.

Method 1

Refer the article Fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store
and try the suggested steps and check if the issue still persists. If the issue still persists try with the method 2.

Method 2

Reset Snip & Sketch app

1. Press Windows + I key and click on
   Apps.
   
2. Click on Apps & features. Select Sketch & Snip app from the available list of installed apps.
   
3. Click on Snip & Sketch > Advanced Options.
   
4. Click on Reset option.
   
5. Restart the computer once and check the status of the issue.
   
6. Let us know if the issue still persists.

Windows 10 Snip and Sketch as a photo viewer?

Snip and Sketch is not a Photo Viewer, it is the Photos App in Windows 10 that is the default Photo Viewer

Snip and Sketch is just a screen shot app

Open the Settings App (gear icon on your Start Menu)

Go to Apps and find the Photos App

Select that, choose Advanced Options - Reset

Then check the functionality of the Photos App . . .
