Windows 10: Snip & Sketch makes PC freeze \ 100% CPU usage.

As the title says, snip & sketch started acting up. The program will either work as intended, make my pc freeze, or will fail saving a screenshot. Its been this way for over a month now, and my PC is more than capable of taking a screenshot, lmao. I tried reinstalling Snip and Sketch, force stopping, etc. This feature used to be so nice and easy to use, but now its such a bother.

Did anyone else experience this? Are there any fixes? Google didnt really help.



Edit: I'm using an external GPU, and sometimes even if the app UI fails to load, I'll still have the screenshot saved in clipboard's history (Winkey + V [not on 'recent' paste])

Snip and sketch crashes 100%

I have the same problem, and I use screensketch frequently for work )-:

I have tried:

• reset the app
• re-install the app

but as soon as I open an snip in Snip & Sketch or open it from the Start menu, it crashes.

 

Screen flickering while using Snip and Sketch

In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below:

• What is the make and model of the PC?
• Do you see this behavior in any other application?

Meanwhile, let us try few steps.



Step 1: Reset Snip & Sketch app.

1. Press Windows + I key to open Windows
   Settings.
   
2. Click on Apps and select
   Apps & feature from the left pane.
   
3. Scroll and look for the Snip & Sketch
   app.
   
4. Select the app and click on Advanced option.
   
5. Click on Reset and once you see a tick mark, then relaunch and check.
   

Step 2: Update display driver.

We would suggest you to update the display driver from Device Manager. Please refer this article to update the driver:

Snip and sketch continuously freezing my pc

Hello. I recently started using snip and sketch to screenshot my work but it has started freezing my pc everytime I make a selection. The pc is relatively new and should run it fine. The mouse cursor works but the keyboard won't.
