Windows 10: Snip & Sketch - pasted clip only shows half of what was copied - occurred after a Windows...

I was loving the Snip & Sketch tool until after running Windows 10 updates.


1. First, the tool stopped allowing me to take multiple snips in open windows (loved that I didn't have to save each one before making a new one -super helpful for technical documentation). I found a setting to turn this back to the default of allowing multiple snips.


2. But then, after taking a snip, if I did not move the cursor horizontally and vertically to draw a box, only part of the snip was captured (in this particular issue, I found that dragging the mouse diagonally caused only a partial snip to be captured). I ran more Windows updates which fixed it so I can move the mouse diagonally or horizontally, then vertically to show the whole snip in the Snip & Sketch window.


3. Now the issue is that even though the whole snip shows in Snip & Sketch, clicking the copy button and then pasting it into an email (or PowerPoint as the image below was created) only part of the image appears in the diagonal. Why is this happening?


Note: A border was added after pasting the image into PowerPoint to show the part of the image that has been whited-out.

Snip & Sketch

It's the Snipping Tool that's being phased out, not Snip & Sketch. FWIW, I just used the latter tool and was able to paste the snip into a Word (Office 365) document. There was a point in the past when for reasons unknown, opening Word would clear the
clipboard. If you're using an older version, you might want to try opening the document first, before taking a screenshot.

If you prefer to use Snipping Tool, all you have to do (as I suggested earlier) is open the Start Menu and type snip.

 

Snip & Sketch

I LOVED the Microsoft Snipping Tool. I understand that Microsoft did away with it and replaced it with "Snip & Sketch." While the concept to use it is the same, when I capture what I want as a "NEW" snip, it then appears simply as a blank screen within the
Snip & Sketch app. I believe that the app says it copies the snip to the Clipboard, so I attempted to open up a Word doc and a Notepad doc and "Paste" but still nothing appears.

Please help!

 

Snip & Sketch overrides clipboard

I configured my Snip & Sketch app so that snips will not automatically copied. But they are always copied automatically to the clipboard. I did the troubleshooting
steps such as computer rebooting but all in vain
