Windows 10: Snip & Sketch shortcut in Windows 20H2 update not working as previously.

After installing the Feature update to Windows 10, version 20H2, I've noticed an undesirable change to the Snip & Sketch functionality. When taking a snapshot from the Snip & Sketch application, and pasting the result into Word, the snapshot is the correct size size of original item where copied from. However, if the snapshot is taken by using the Shift + Windows + S feature, when pasted, it is a larger copy of the original. Sure, it can be made smaller by using the sizing handles, but that's an extra annoyance step. This problem also occurred in a previous Windows update, but was later fixed. Now it has appeared again.

Below is a screen shot showing the same text snapped from the GUI and from the shortcut Shift + Windows + S. You can clearly see the difference in size. I would like the shortcut to return a faithful rendition of the original screen size when I take a snapshot.

Snip and Sketch shortcuts.

Is it possible to create a taskbar shortcut to open 'Snip and Sketch' directly and without it opening the whole App?

These images should clarify what I mean. Snip and Sketch can be added to the taskbar but it always opens as shown. By pure chance I found a button in the action centre that also opens Snip and Sketch. This one opens just the working App ready to go and use without the other screen info present.

Thank you for updating me that information. If you mean the snip and sketch? Based on your description the snipping tool is crashing?

Please try to reset Snip and Sketch

Press Start then search Apps and Features

Select Snip and Sketch on the list

Click Terminate then Reset

If it doesn't work, Please try to create a new administrator account then check if everything is working.
