Windows 10: Snip & Sketch stays minimized after snip when other Windows apps are open

If I have both Snip & Sketch open at the same time as another Microsoft app Settings, One Note, Photos, Movies and TV, the calculator, when I click New Snip it minimizes the window then goes into snip selection as normal, but then when I finish taking the snip, instead of bringing the Snip & Sketch window back up like normal, it keeps Snip & Sketch minimized and instead switches to the window of whatever other Microsoft app I have open, so I'll have to manually reselect the Snip & Sketch window every time I take a snip. It also happens if I hit esc during a snip to cancel out

Snip & Sketch window fails to stay open

OK, can you reboot and then re-try the Snip & Sketch.

If the problem persists, do the following:

Press Windows Key + I key to open Settings, and click on Apps.

You should already be on Apps & features. Find Sketch & Snip app from the available list of apps.

Click on Snip & Sketch > Uninstall.

Then click on Start and type store and click on Microsoft Store in the results.

In the Microsoft store, type Snip into the search box and hit Enter and Snip & Sketch will be in the results. Click on it and then click on Get. Let it install and then try using it again.

Please try the following methods below.

**Update Snip and Sketch app

Open Microsoft Store then Click 3 dots

Select Download and Updates

Update Snip and Sketch or click Update all

**Reset the Snip and Sketch app

Press Start then search Apps and Features

Search and click "Snip and Sketch" app in the list

Click Advanced options > Reset

Let's try to reinstall Snip and Sketch app via PowerShell.

Press Windows key+X then select Powershell(Admin)

Copy and paste the command to uninstall Snip and Sketch app

get-appxpackage *Microsoft.ScreenSketch* | remove-appxpackage

After that, Proceed to reinstall Snip and Sketch app

Open Microsoft Store then search Snip and Sketch

Click Install

or Install Snip and Sketch via PowerShell

Press Windows key+X then select PowerShell(Admin)

Copy and paste the following then hit Enter:

Get-AppXPackage *Microsoft.ScreenSketch* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Restart your computer

Sketch and Snip

As we are working as a IT support for the secure project, we need to disable the sketch and snip in windows 10 20h2 as well as in 21h2.

We have tried to add the registry keys for DisabledHotKeys as well as NoWinKeys, and we have turned off the hotkeys from the gpedit.msc.

But it is helping to disable the hotkeys only but not the sketch and snip. There are different ways to open the sketch and snip.

1) If we disabled the hotkeys, we are able to open the sketch and snip from start.

2) We are able to open the sketch and snip from the quick actions which is inside the notification bar.

3) We are able to open the sketch and snip by using the command explorer ms-screenclip:

Please suggest here to disable or remove the sketch and snip completely from the Windows 10.
