Windows 10: Snipped images won't save;

I have recently upgraded my Lenovo ThinkCentre desktop to Windows 11. I frequently use the snipping tool to copy images. I then save them to my pictures folder. Since upgrading, however, Snipping Tool images won't save. I follow the standard procedure: snip the image no problem; click the "save as" icon in the upper right corner; the directory pops up; I write a file name; click save. I then get a popup "File not found." It's as if the Save As command is actually a search command and, of course, it can't find the file I'm trying to save. Any suggestions? I'm not much of a tech person. Here

Snipping Tool Enlarging Images

Hi Heather,

Snipping Tool has various options on how you can capture images in your computer. To change it to normal snipping, follow the steps below:

• Press Windows + S to open Search Box.
• Type Snipping Tool, then click it.
• Click New.
• Click the drop-down menu in New.
• Select Rectangular Snip.

Let us know if this works for you.

 

Snipping tool bug - does not save a snip 1st time

I have a Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 17134)

1. Open a snipping tool

2. Click on a new snip (have a rectangular snip mode set)

3. Take a snip and press save (black floppy disk)

4. Choose a location, name a snip and press save

Current result: Snip will not be saved, only if you press save (black floppy disk) again and then press save - it will ask you whether you want to overwrite it - if you choose yes, only then the snippet will be created in a given location.

Expected result:

Snip will be saved in a current location directly after step 4.

Please, Microsoft, fix this bug, I am actually using your snipping tool for work, and this drives me crazy!

This bug is here for quite some time and it haven´t been fixed.

Apologies, if this is not a proper forum for bug report, but this is the only one I know.

 

Can't save or paste an image with the new Snip & Sketch tool

I'm here to help you.

To use the snipping tool you must,

Select the Start button, then in the search box on the taskbar, type snippets and select Snipping Tool from the list of results.

Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Search (or if you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, and then select Search), type snipping tool in the box. Search and select Snipping Tool from the list
of results.

After capturing a snip, select the Save Snip button.

In the Save As dialog box, enter a file name, location, and file type, and then select Save.
