Windows 10: Snippet, Resolver, VLC and other media apps take a long time to load, or don't load at all

Has anybody experienced this? It's only started to happen around 2 weeks ago. I noticed VLC would take an age to load. It's the same with the snippet app, if I attempt to load it, it will take a significant amount of time.

I can't open Davinci Resolver at all. Was working fine last night when I was working on a project. I have nothing open except Telegram and Brave Browser. No malware, scanned with Malware Bytes, Windows Defender and a rootkit scanner.

I've got 16GB RAM, GTX 1060 6GB running Windows 10.

I did go through some removal of software I don't use using a piece of software called Bulk Crap Uninstaller: https://www.bcuninstaller.com/

Are there any extensions related to Windows that I could have removed by accident? Like a video codec or something?

Any help would be great.

Long Loading Time for Lock Screen

Hello Pawan, thank you for the reply!

I've tried all of the steps that you've given me. Unfortunately, none of them made a difference except for the clean boot step. It didn't completely solve the problem, however I did notice a
slightly faster load time for the lock screen. However, it still takes an unusually long time to load it. Any other suggestions?

Snippet Tool + Recycle Bin

Snippet Tool: I found it in my new machine loaded with Windows 10. The Snippet does what it is supposed to however when sending an email either with the snippet as an attachment or copied to the email; the email is lost in "cyberspace" & never shows up

I deleted Snippet on a suggestion from "Microsoft Community" but now can't find the Microsoft Snippet Tool download. I've seen plenty "knockoffs" but want the Microsoft version.

Recycle Bin: I cannot find it anywhere. I tried to load the icon to my tray, (I do know how) but it never showed up nor is it in the list of programmes. I don't believe it is loaded.

This is a new HP machine (ordered from HP) with Windows 10 so what's up?

 

VLC Slow to Load?


I find VLC 32 bit is very slow to load on my SSD based laptop after the AU. I've uninstalled/reinstalled VLC several times to no effect. Please advise how to troubleshoot /fix this problem.
