Windows 10: Snippet tool not working, cannot write in search field - a lot of bugs

HelloIt is 2024-08-04. There are more and more Windows bugs taking time to find work around for, and then work around for the work arounds. Snippet tool - suddenly stopped working. When installing an alternativ tool, I found out that I cannot write in the search field under the Windows button.

Nope...none of the suggestions worked. What I really need to know is how to map the Windows 10 Snippet tool to my Gmail or Hotmail accounts

Please help...it's making me crazy

 

Snippet Tool + Recycle Bin

Snippet Tool: I found it in my new machine loaded with Windows 10. The Snippet does what it is supposed to however when sending an email either with the snippet as an attachment or copied to the email; the email is lost in "cyberspace" & never shows up

I deleted Snippet on a suggestion from "Microsoft Community" but now can't find the Microsoft Snippet Tool download. I've seen plenty "knockoffs" but want the Microsoft version.

Recycle Bin: I cannot find it anywhere. I tried to load the icon to my tray, (I do know how) but it never showed up nor is it in the list of programmes. I don't believe it is loaded.

This is a new HP machine (ordered from HP) with Windows 10 so what's up?

 

Cannot write in Edge address field or Cortana search field

Hi,

I'm unable to write in the address field in Microsoft Edge. The only way I can use the browser is to open a new Tab. Click random Bing news item so it loads the webpage and then use the Bing search textbox that is at the top of the page to be able to search
the internet.

After some more looking around my PC I'm also unable to write using the Windows Search/Cortana next to the Start Menu. Same goes for the new Settings that has replaced Control Panel.

What does *not* work:

1) Microsoft Edge - Address field doesn't work. I can write in text fields the webpages have available

2) Windows Search/Cortana - Cannot write in search text field. But if I click Feedback then I can write in that textbox.

3) Windows Settings - Cannot search any feature. Under programs and features I cannot write in the search field. But if I try to change computer name. Then I can write.

Paste does work so sometimes I use Notepad to do the writing, then copy-paste into Edge address field or Windows Search.

What does works:

1) Internet Explorer 11 - I can write in the address field here

2) Notepad - No issue writing here.

3) Control Panel - I can write in the search here to find various features

I kind of get the feeling it is all the new UWP applications that I'm having an issue with.

Has anybody seen this before? Any help is appreciated.
