Snipping Tool and some built-in apps might not open or work as expected

In Windows 11, version 21H2, starting on November 1, 2021, some users might be unable to open or use certain built-in Windows apps or parts of some built-in apps that have not installed KB5006746, released October 21, 2021. This is caused by an issue with a Microsoft digital certificate, which expired October 31, 2021. Devices running in S mode are more likely to be affected. The following or a subset of the following might be affected:Snipping ToolAccounts page and landing page in the Settings app S mode onlyTouch Keyboard, Voice Typing, and Emoji PanelInput Me

  3. Snippet Tool will snip but snip doesn't show up in a test email

    Hi Phillip,

I realize the inconvenience you are experiencing with Windows 10. I will certainly help you.

I would like to inform you that Snipping tool is a desktop app and not a Windows Store app.

All the Windows Store apps will be listed in All apps list and not desktop app.

Regarding the sending attachment emails of snipped imaged, follow the steps below and check if it helps.

    1. Open Snipping tool.

    2. Then click on New button and then imaged will be shown in the snipping tool.

    3. After that click on File button on the top left side of the app and click on
    Send to.

    4. Click on Email Recipient.

Please get back to us with an update on using snipping tool, we will be happy to help.

    Thank you.

Snipping Tool Solid Gray cut out

    Hi,

The issue can be due to a corrupted profile account which is affecting the built-in app Snipping Tool. Perform the following solutions below if it works for you:

    • Open administrative command prompt (type in Command Prompt in the Cortana search bar, then right-click it and select Admin) and type or copy and paste the following:
      • sfc /scannow
      • dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    • Go to This PC > Windows > system32 > run Snipping Tool as administrator.

Let us know how it went after troubleshooting.
