Windows 10: Snipping tool border not saving, not automatic

Whenever I try to take a snip and include a border "add border to each screenshot" is enabled it only adds the border if I maximize the screenshot by clicking the notification.When the screenshot is simply copied to the clipboard the border isn't there.When the screenshot is saved to windows automatically the border isn't there.The only time I can get the border to show up is when I click the notification and it's added, then I have to do a Save-as of the picture for the picture to be saved with a border. Shouldn't this be more automatic?See below, before and after of opening the image i

Please try this:

Step 1:

Click Start, and type Snipping Tool.

Right-click Snipping Tool from the search results, and click App Settings

Click Reset,

Click Repair.

Note: In Windows 11, there is no Snip and Sketch. It comes pre-installed with the new Snipping Tool (which replaces the old Snipping Tool and Snip & Sketch apps)

Step 2:

Turn off Focus assist if it's enabled

Step 3:

Open Services.msc and make sure that the following services are set to "Automatic" and running:

• Windows Push Notifications System Service
  
• Windows Push Notifications User Service
  

 

Snip Tool won't save directly

My snip tool won't save snips at all unless I manually go into the snip tool and save it from there. I'm running Windows 11.

I have all of these enabled:

• Snipping tool notifications
  
• Use the Print screen button to open screen snipping
  
• Save Snips
  

I've created a new user profile, turned off and on all those various settings, updated my computer fully, and rebooted.

I talked with someone in tech support at length but he was stumped too since I have the "Save Snips" option enabled.

 

Change Snipping Tool save location on Windows 11 but not Screenshots

I just figured this one out!!!!

You need to go into settings on the snipping tool & TURN off the Automatically copy changes, Automatically save screenshots, Ask to save edited screenshots & Multiple windows. I left add border on.

After I did I snipped part of my screen & hit the save button & it went to my desktop not the screenshots folder!!!!!

YAY ME!
