Windows 10: Snipping Tool copies grew/black screen only

My Snipping Tool often does NOT work. when i try to select something, it goes grey/black. As a result, whatever I copy, shows up as a black box. I've tried to clean up temp directories, rebooted, but it is not solving the issues. Is there an update I need to run? Can you please provide the detail steps?

I'm using Win 10, 64 bit box. Pc is only 3/4 months old.

why do i get a black screen when I try to use the snipping tool in windows 10 It has never been a problem before.
