    Snipping Tool Huge Data Size - How to reduce it?


    Dear Sirs,Today I found out that Snipping Tool is take over a large size of my laptop storage. Around 6.3 GBStorage Setting > Apps > Installed apps > Sort Size Large to SmallHowever, I can't find where they are stored to delete.Could you help to check?Thank you so much,

    Hi again Taffy,

    The reason your new snips are huge is your new Lenovo has a much higher resolution than your previous laptop . . .

    The Snipping tool takes screenshots at a set resolution, because there are a lot more pixels on your new Lenovo, the resulting images are going to be much bigger . . .

    The only real way to reduce the size of those screenshots is to edit those after they are taken

    Right click a screenshot and choose Open With - Choose another App - Paint

    In Paint, click Resize, then make sure percentage is the units used, if say you choose 50%, that will result in an image that is 1/4 the size of the original (half the height and width)

    Can I reduce the size of Snipping Tool images? Windows 10

    I'm currently setting up a new Lenovo Legion Y520. The snipping tool on it produces images that are HUGE compared with my older HP laptop. For example, I keep a diary of WU changes and this shows the differences:

    How can I reduce the size of my snips on the Lenovo please?

    PS I've used "Performance & System failures" as the topic - it's not really a failure as such. If this is in the wrong Category/topics etc would a Moderator please move this as appropriate please. TIA

    Snipping Tool Huge Data Size - How to reduce it?

    Please try this:

    Step 1:

    Click Start, and type Snipping Tool.

    Right-click Snipping Tool from the search results, and click App Settings

    Click Reset,

    Click Repair.

    Note: In Windows 11, there is no Snip and Sketch. It comes pre-installed with the new Snipping Tool (which replaces the old Snipping Tool and Snip & Sketch apps)

    Step 2:

    Turn off Focus assist if it's enabled

    Step 3:

    Open Services.msc and make sure that the following services are set to "Automatic" and running:

    • Windows Push Notifications System Service
    • Windows Push Notifications User Service
