I have scoured the MS community for a solution for the fatal flaw in new Snipping Tool sharing functionality. So I pose the same question again in hopes of a solution for everyone. How do you select default email for sharing a snip within Snipping tool?I have Outlook selected as default email for all applications on my computer. But within Snipping Tool, only web-based Outlook is an option. The only way I can successfully send a Snip is to save the image, then open Outlook and attach the image, then delete the saved image. This is seriously inefficient and unnecessary, when the previous version

Unable to email from Snipping tool

    Hello,

On a Windows 10 machine b.16299 the snipping tool is not using the default email application which is set to be Outlook.

First when starting, it gave the New profile wizard although there was already an Outlook profile created.

I've went through the first steps of the setup and then it started opening a new email message with the snip but unable to send it saying no local profile existed to send from.

I've ran Office 2016 repair and now I get:

The snip could not be sent. Check that an email program is installed and then try again.

Checked all the settings in the registry - looked as they should be.

Seems that it cannot read what the default mail program is.

Does someone know which registry setting Snipping tool reads/refers to?

  3. Snipping tool not using default mail client

    Hi,

On my Win 10 laptop, when I use snipping tool and try to send the file to someone with email via snipping tool's built in -file-send to-email recipient option, snipping tool tries to send it through outlook 2016 even though my default mail app is set as
"Mail" app. What can I do about this? I don't want snipping tool to use outlook. I want it to use Mail app which is already set as the default app on system settings.

    Thanks.

Windows 10 Snipping Tool associated default email program

    Hello,

I have a similar issue. We recently changed email clients from IBM Notes to Outlook 2016, which is actually set as my default application for email. However, if I try to email a snip directly from the Snipping Tool, it will always try to open IBM Notes.
