Windows 10: snipping tool will not allow me to edit the image in the app

When in the i use the windows key shift and s, it won't allow me to click the notification to edit it in the snipping tool software. i have tried everything from repairing the app, resetting the app, sfc/ scannow, allowing the app to run in the background etc I have also reinstalled the app completely. none of it has worked. Does any one know how i could fix this? I think it's something to do with my account as when i log on with a different user, it works fine.

Please try this:

Step 1:

Click Start, and type Snipping Tool.

Right-click Snipping Tool from the search results, and click App Settings

Click Reset,

Click Repair.

Note: In Windows 11, there is no Snip and Sketch. It comes pre-installed with the new Snipping Tool (which replaces the old Snipping Tool and Snip & Sketch apps)

Step 2:

Turn off Focus assist if it's enabled

Step 3:

Open Services.msc and make sure that the following services are set to "Automatic" and running:

• Windows Push Notifications System Service
  
• Windows Push Notifications User Service

Hi Heather,

Snipping Tool has various options on how you can capture images in your computer. To change it to normal snipping, follow the steps below:

• Press Windows + S to open Search Box.
• Type Snipping Tool, then click it.
• Click New.
• Click the drop-down menu in New.
• Select Rectangular Snip.

Snipping Tool not showing Preview/Editing Window

One of our users suddenly lost the capability to view the Preview/Editing windows when taking screenshots using Snipping tool. They can still paste the snipped window with no problem, but cannot check and edit the said screenshot before saving/sending.

Steps taken to resolve the issue:

1. Restart the App

2. Restart the PC

3. Reset App in Settings

4. Uninstall the app, and reinstall from Microsoft Store.

5. Run an SFC system scan and repair

6. Updated Graphics Drivers.

If someone can suggest anything to help with the issue, it will be greatly appreciated.
