Windows 10: Snipping tool will not open and says that the data area passed to a system call is too small?

Shows the location under program files but am unable to use on either laptop.

I've recently installed windows 10. Whenever I try to open a jpeg file I get the following message:

"The data area passed to a system call is too small".

Any ideas please?

The Data Area Passed to a System Call is Too Small

I know that this was posted before but it pertained to pictures. I am trying to open a PDF document and I am getting the error "The Data Area Passed to a System Call is Too Small" the weird thing is this is the only document that it's doing this with.
I would really appreciate any help as to how to resolve this so I can open this document. Many thanks
