Windows 10: snipping tool

my snipping tool started to print in red instead of black. text doesnt appear red on the screen. if i copy into e.g. wordpad it printst red. nothing else in wordpad prints red. direct printing of text is as usual. how to get rid of this? obviously its not the printer.

In Win10 type Snip into the search box in your primary monitor toolbar. Snipping Tool will show up at the top of the list.
