    SNMP Missing From Windows 10 Pro Version 2004


    Discovered this tonight when i upgraded my workstation from windows 10 pro... version 1909 to Windows 10 pro workstation... version 2004 was able to bypass this by using an old fix from older update.. so here is the work around...


    The fix is as follows:


    Open Powershell with Administrator credentials

    issue the following commands:


    if you dont know how to open powershell just right Click on windows logo

    and then follow this guide...


    Get-WindowsCapability -Online -Name "SNMP*"


    Will show Not Present


    Add-WindowsCapability -Online -Name "SNMP.Client~~~~0.0.1.0"


    Get-WindowsCapability -Online -Name "SNMP*"


    Should now show Installed

    :)

    Windows 10 Pro 1909 SNMP missing

    I recently upgraded windows 10 from home to pro. I need SNMP with WMI for a specific software. I was able to add both features via apps and features and the service shows it is running but I am not able to install the software I need. It goes to check
    windows features for both SNMP and WMI and fails to load due to the features not showing there. My understanding is this was an 1809 issue and was resolved in later releases. I have ran the DSIM health check and scan and my system shows no corrupt or missing
    files. How can I get SNMP and WMI to show in windows features?

    Thank you for the quick response. I have read that document in its entirety. My root problem is that Im unable to enable SNMP in the turn windows features on/off. SNMP does not show up there. This is also why the software wont install. As a followup, I just
    purchased an additional copy of windows 10 pro and installed on a different PC which is running windows 10 pro 1903. It has the same issue.

    The OS version information fetched by SNMP is incorrect for windows 10

    Hi Giridhar J, do you have any further suggestion about this problem? Or any other oid by SNMP to get the correct version number of windows 10? Or it is a bug of windows 10 and need to have a patch about this problem?
