Windows 10: So.. I deleted the default user file

Is there a way to recover that without a reset? Ignoring Windows' warnings very smart I know, I was trying to clean up space where I could and saw some files labeled 'Default' in my users folder and assumed that it wasn't important. Little did I know that they were essential windows folders for maintaining new accounts.


I can't find any downloads online, nor do I have easy access to another windows computer.

Help is much appreciated!

windows 10 deleted my desktop files

Step 1 - I upgraded to Win 10 and lost all my files on Desktop.

Step 2 - Found the files in Network - USers- Desktop

copied all files again to desktop.

Step 3- Restarted my machine again and lost desktop files again.

Step 4 - As suggested did the following as listed below but dont find my files.

• Press “Windows + E”, open This PC/Computer
• Open Local Disc C, open Windows.old
• Click on Users, select your User name
• Go to desktop folder

Cant find my files. Why is Win 10 deleted files again and again from Desktop ?.

Are you logging in using a Microsoft account?

If you are using an administrator account, I suggest you to delete the other user accounts once again and check if that helps.

Method 1: I would have you perform the steps-

• Login to your default account.
• Click on the “Windows logo” and type “User Accounts”.
• Now, select “Settings” and then select the “User Accounts” icon.
• Click on “Manage another account” and then select the user account that you want to delete.
• Click on “delete the account”.
• Depending on whether you want to “Keep the files” or “delete the files” choose the appropriate option.
• You can delete the other accounts similarly.

Note: Once deleted, the user accounts cannot be recovered. Make sure you back up any data if required.

Method 2: If the issue persists, create a new user account and check if it helps.

Where do ati drivers go by default??

i shoulda stated, i went through the registries and deleted a bunch of strings as per Erockers thread showing step by step what to delet and from where. thanks mussles ill search the windows update files.
