So I have Device encryption on for my Windows 11 home laptop. Should I also enable encryption in Samsung magician software?

Windows 10 BitLocker Drive Encryption AND Device Encryption enabled?

Recently I looked into enabling "BitLocker Drive Encryption" on Windows 10 Pro. After enabling it, I discovered that "Device Encryption" under Settings -> Update and Security -> Device Encryption was already enabled. This is a new Lenovo laptop from 12/2020,
bought from Lenovo with Windows 10 installed. I never enabled Device Encryption, so I'm guessing it was enabled by default. Does it matter if both "Device Encryption" AND "BitLocker Drive Protection" are BOTH enabled? Should I disable one of them?

 

Windows 11 - Enable Device Encryption for Home version

I have a Windows 11 Home edition not running on laptop and I need to have my Hard-Drive encrypted.

The issue is that BitLocker is only available for Win Professional edition. I've found our the Device Encryption feature under all Windows editions but I cannot enable it (it does not appear under Update & Security.

I've found out using the System Information tool under Device Encryption Support that I have an issue, here it is :

I've looked up a bit, changed some registry settings but nothing changed. From GUI to command line, nothing made it work.

I also tried to enabled Modern Standby but didn't work.

 

Device Encryption for Windows 11 doesn't show, even though TPM 2.0 is enabled

For some reason, that I can not find the answer to, Device Encryption will not show up in the Windows 11 settings. Here is the hardware I am using:

• Motherboard: MSI MAG Z590 Tomahawk Wifi
  
• CPU: Intel i7 11700k @3.60GHz, 8 core
  
• SSD: Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 1TB
  
• SSD: Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 500GB
  

When I run the `tpm.msc` program, it shows that I do have TPM version 2.0 enabled and that it is ready for user. Yet, when I run the `msinfo32` program (System Information) and take a look at the Device Encryption support, it is showing this:

Reasons for failed automatic device encryption: PCR7 Binding is not supported, Hardware Security Test Interface failed and device is not in Modern Standby, Un-Allowed DMA Capable bus/devices detected.

I have done a lot of research and can't seem to find why Device Encryption isn't supported.
