  1. So the last update nuked my whole computer...

Pretty much the title. I was just wasting time and decided to go crazy and install the newest update outside of the designated hours, really throw caution to the wind. JUST before this I had been on a Duo call using my new Sony WH1000XM4’s (this is relevant, not an advert). As with any new BT device you have to do the pairing and the “when and where to use” dance. All this was dealt with and going smoothly. Minutes before the Duo call I was using my BT speaker to listen to a podcast through the PC. And then used the headphones during the Duo call with zero problem.

I then install the update. Wait a little, etc. Once the update was settled and all was shipshape, I went to use my headphones to listen to music. There’s no response in pairing, seems like a quick fix attributable to the update. I go to the settings > device management > BT... There’s no on/off slider for Bluetooth. Nothing... All local enabled devices were recognized and their specifics listed. But no Bluetooth. Zero way to even turn it on. Just poof my computer didn’t have BT anymore. Gone.

I called Tech Support, tried a few things that didn’t work (drivers, etc) so we ended up doing a restore from two days prior. (That took WAY longer than I expected, but that’s irrelevant.) So after the wait, it fires up and sputters and shakes for a minute and then all was well... still no Bluetooth. I say to heck with it and take a break for the day.

This morning I go to boot up and... some QR code pops up and then I’m in a Nietzsche-ian BSoD Eternal Recurrence nightmare... There’s “advanced options” that don’t lead to any progress. And I have no idea how to proceed...

tl;dr- install new update, pc works no moar. wut do?

[thank you in advance and sorry if this is a well trod subject]

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond So the last update nuked my whole computer... :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.
