    Don't know what went on with recent udpates but came back to my PC this evening arfter I had restarted it for the update and it uninstalled some programs like NOrdVPN, my UAC is set back to "annoying mode" where I have to give permissions everytime. My firewall stuff I had set up to be blocked is all gone...etc.

    Add Remove Programs in Windows XP doesn't finish loading the program list (It never even starts displaying any programs) and I believe it may be that a uninstall program messed up completely and Windows can't figure out what programs are installed because of it. What is the problem? Please?

    Remove program from Firewall list

    Hello,
    Recently uninstalled some program, it is still in the firewall programs list.
    I deleted the "V" from the box by clicking on 'change settings' but it comes back.
    How to remove it from the list ?
    Answers will be appreciated.

    Windows Vista has large security hole in UAC

    Actually you need a 2nd tier UAC that would catch this. In other words you would invest in a good firewall program. In all UAC is just a very "lite" version of an annoying, useless firewall IMO.
