Windows 10: So why did Notepad just lose my stuff???

Hi AllSo I have a question before about "new" Notepad and how it is extremely UN-user friendly by opening multiple tabs and the like. So I changed the setting, saw that I had two versions of the same notepad document open. Saved the updated one and closed the otherNext time I open Notepad it brings up only one tab - one problem solved but brings up the old one and not the updated saved one. It appears all the valuable work I did is just gone at Notepad's whim. Is there anyway to retrieve it?Notepad used to be a handy little tool to just keep scraps of information in a single place on my deskto

I suggest you to follow the steps provided below:

• Open Task Manager. Here’s a tip: press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC.
• Click on Startup tab.
• Select Notepad from the list and click on Disable.

I followed your suggestion but wasn't able to find Notepad listed on the startup. There are some listed as program but don't know which ones it could be.

 

Notepad on Windows 7\

Suggestion would be uninstall then new install on Win7. Maybe an older version would work better? A list, maybe Version 7?
