Windows 10: software and USB not working

I have a ASUS notebook, running McAfee Enterprise edition fire wall and anti virus. I have run windows 7 Professional, for several years with the same software with out a problem. I installed the aniversary edition of windows 10, since that time I have been unable to connect and run programs through the USB plugs. Canon software to transfer pictures into the computer, use the Lexar card reader, and Garmin software to load and down load maps from GPS.
I have worked with a program I found to "make exceptions" to windows 10 to allow programs through. I have been able at times to use the Lexar card reader which opens Canon EOS program to transfer photos.
The built in card reader no longer opens or recognizes cards in it.
I am about to the point of reinstalling 7 Professional.

It seems that the driver installed on your computer is not compatible with the build and version of Windows that is currently running on your computer. In this case, we suggest downloading the most updated USB driver from the manufacturers website.

Yes, I am still having this problem. I would like to dogure out how to force the loading of the USB drivers, rathher than do a clean install & move all of my settings.

 

Hi Policy, I never update to Windows 10, but I did heard some of its issues from my fellow, seems damn buggy. But I think you can use another way to keep the Windows 10 and use your previous Windows 7 at the same time.
You can make a portable Windows on your USB with Aomei back up software. If you want Windows 7 to deal with Canon picture, then plugin the USB has the portable Win 7, then your previous Win 7 will be there. And if you don't use the Windows 7 feature, unplug the USB, Windows 10 will still on your PC.

Hi, Rich, it's just a way to keep Windows 10 as well as Windows 7, instead of reinstalling Windows 7 to get rid of Windows 10.
I mean you can use Windows 7 and Windows 10 if you want to, not necessary. When Windows 10 fix the bugs, then you may be able to connect and run programs through the USB plugs again, right?...,

 

You will probably balk at my answer but I would blame McAfee for those troubles. It's just not W10 ready as it should be.

another issue I have, in the past I have my touch pad shut off, because i touch it all the time and move the courser, change pages and various other things. I have gone in and shut it off supposedly but it had no effect.

 

You might need to go to the Asus web site and see if their any Windows 10 enterprise USB driver updates for specific notebook.

We call McAfee t "Mc Aweful" -- how it ever got to be the prime choice of some businesses is totally beyond my comprehension -- that's probably why I NEVER trust so called corporate "Security experts when they can recommend total "Bovine Scatology" like that.

However windows update should find pretty well all the hardware --
If you can get into the device manager -->properties then look at the event log you should get details of the hardware that's not working.

From there you can then google to find a driver -- Don't use things like DriverMax - they'll sucker you in and then ask you to PAY to access the part of the site you want - nasty "Sneakerware". All this stuff is FREELY available on the net once you've identified the hardware.

Google on the whole text bit like in my screenshot from \FUNC up to &REV_xxxx or subsys_xxxx if no &REV

For example a Nvidia sound driver





Google this bit \FUNC_01&VEN_10DE&DEV_001C&SUBSYS_38422615&REV_1001

You'll then find the google results and this should help you get the proper drivers.

Whenever I hear of McAfee and Deamon Tools, it's in conjunction with some problem.

 

OK never did get the drives running. Now Outlook does not run. It showed thousands of un-read emails. I looked at there were a lot of "news groups". After i deleted them now outlook does not run.
I tried to correct it with the DVD disk, and the CD ROM will not run. Does anyone have any ideals?

i deleted unread meassages in my inbox. afterwards outlook wold not run. I tried to repair the program with the dvd, the dvd drive will not run. Nor will the computer update I also tried to update drivers for the cd rom and it says it is up to date.
