Windows 10: SoftwareDistribution folder duplicated on second drive

​Since the Win10 Anniversary update, I have a duplicate SoftwareDistribution folder on my B drive (which is where I store all my files).
There is the regular SoftwareDistribution folder under c:/Windows plus a SoftwareDistribution.old folder, both of which have half a dozen or so subfolders each.
The folder on my B drive only has a single subfolder called: DeliveryOptimisation, which in turn has a single subfolder called: 74341542e2094e5e819749088b4ee2e8d2843dcc.
Am I able to delete the duplicated folder on my B drive? There are only 2 files in the subfolder, but one's about 127mb.

I tried the Administrator Command Prompt and followed all the instructions given but nothing happens.

By the way, why does my video file has video icon but named documents like in the picture? How do I change it?

My view is yes you should be save to do so as it shouldn't be there anyway.

However for safety I'd rename it first, and see what happens. Leave it a while, if all is ok, delete it. You could keep a backup.

(When an update failed to download I renamed the SoftwarDistribution folder (not a recommended idea) on C: - deleting or renaming the Downloads folder in it is wiser) and it was recreated. I just lost my update history)

You can safely delete the folder on the second drive as well as the .old on the main drive. This folder contains all of the Cached Windows Updates and is typically deleted as part of Windows Update troubleshooting. Windows will simply rebuild this directory automatically once deleted.
