Windows 10: [SOLUTION] Disable Auto-Login of Last User Without Password in Windows 10

For those having the same problem as this post, I have created a simple batch script to automatically edit the registry and its permissions to bring back the ability to choose a user upon startup, so you don't have to manually go to regedit and do the changes.For those who want to try, feedback would be great for me to see if my solution works for you too.This batch script uses the solution provided by this post, and #2 here.https://github.com/christiankyle-ching/DisableAutoLoginWin10

Windows 10 - disable login passwords

How do I disable login passwords for all users on my desktop?

I have followed the many suggestions I've seen on-line but still have not been successful in disabling the log-in password for each user (2 of us); neither can I successfully disable the screen saver password. I'm really hating Windows 10.......should be
simpler......

I understand that you want to disable User account password.

  Are you using Microsoft User account or Local User account to log-in?
  

Let us try the following steps, and check if it helps.

1. Search in the taskbar netplwiz

2. Now user accounts info window will pop up.

Now, select the user account for which you want to disable the password login. Now, uncheck the option which says
user must enter a user name and password to use this computer.

Now, press OK or hit enter.

3. A new window will come out in which you have to confirm your passwords. Use password for your user account here and press
ok button.

4. Click Ok button and you are done. You will no longer required to enter password each time you start your computer.

If you want to revert back password login feature, repeat the process explained above and check the field which says, user must enter a user name and password to use this computer. Now, enter the login credential to confirm the process.

Disable Windows 10 login password

I'm sorry but this does NOT work for me. See my separate post and reply below. Every time Win10 says 'The user name or password is incorrect, try again' Then I have to enter a password. I am out of options as to why netplwiz WILL NOT work for me. I
may have to go back to Win7!!!

This solution (using netplwiz to uncheck the option to enter a username and password)
simply DOES NOT work. Have tried it multiple times. The login password request is somehow tied to opening a Microsoft Account. I upgraded to Windows 10 and was not prompted for a login password at bootup for several months. Then, at Microsoft's
urging, I created a Microsoft Account, and now, I can't use my PC without entering the Microsoft account password. PLEASE Microsoft, fix this. I tried to cancel my Microsoft account, and there are dire warnings about losing all my Outlook email and other
capabilities.
