Windows 10: Solution to black screen? Help please!

Sometimes my laptop starts up fine, then other times it becomes stuck on a black screen (I can see my cursor if I click) and never loads. I have to hard reset then it’s fine.

The symptoms that it will get stuck on a black screen when I next boot it up are as follows:

• 
  Fails to connect to Rainbow Six Siege Servers (a videogame)
  
  
• 
  Takes twice as a long to shut down, despite no applications being open.
  

Those are without fail always things that happen before it gets stuck on black screen, I can’t see it as a coincidence.

• 
  I’ve tried updating, I’ve tried stopping as many background apps as I can
  
  
• 
  I’ve tried limiting what apps begin at startup.
  
  
• 
  I refreshed my laptop less than a month ago.
  

Please help! ☹️ I can’t get in contact with MS staff (maybe due to coronavirus)
