Windows 10: SOLUTION to Microsoft Forcing Microsoft Account Login After Update

If you are having the same problem as mentioned in this locked thread, https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/forced-windows-account-login-after-update/0c9e3bfc-33f6-494b-b049-b453d5208c37where Windows updates and seemingly prevents you from moving forward without entering a Microsoft email address and password, IGNORE ALL OTHER RESPONSES. To get out of it, all you do is CTRL-ALT-DELETE, then click SIGN OUT. Now you can go into your regular account with no issue unless you don't remember your account password, then I can't help you. Hope this is helpful.

Cannot link/add my Microsoft Account to Local Account

Hello Ken,

Im using Win10 Build 1607 with all latest update.

I also run all related troubleshooters:

• Windows Update
• Store Apps (says i have to login in my microsoft account but thats the problem, i can't)
• Microsoft Accounts

No Problem found. Also the suggestions from Microsoft didnt helped.

 

Windows 8 with 2 Microsoft accounts?

Yea, I would create a local account and just use your school account to login to Outlook and Onedrive.

Edit:
Here switch between local and microsoft account.

• Are you able to login with Microsoft account in web?
• What happens exactly when you try to login using Microsoft account?

I suggest you to login to Microsoft account through online login.live.com, if you are able to login to Microsoft account on web then you can reset the password and then try to login and check if the issue persists.
