Windows 10: SOLVED: Bluetooth Mouse, Webcam not working after resume from Standby!

Hi all!


I was struggling with my Microsoft Bluetooth 3600 Mouse not connecting after my Inspiron 13 7306 was waking from Standby.

It showed as connected, but didn't respond.

Also, I was getting weird, intermittent problems with the built-in IR camera and night mode/brightness adjustment of my display not working, all after waking from Standby.


As it turns out, most of these peripherals BT and webcam are internally connected via USB, but in my case for example, the well known settings in Device Manager to allow or disallow shutting down USB controllers never mattered at all...


What mattered was this:

I had disabled Hibernation via the POWERCFG utility, and that appeared to be the problem.

All of the issues went away completely as soon as I re-enabled Hibernation!


I'm no expert, but on modern Ultrabooks, the power management is pretty involved and Windows NEEDS the Hibernation setting to be activated, even if you never use it and even prevent it from showing in the shutdown options, in order to properly manage USB power states.

No mouse/keyboard or Video on resume from standby?

Well everything was working great, now I'm getting no keyboard, mouse or video when I resume from standby. The keyboard will trigger the resume as it should but nothing comes up.

To get anything I have to restart the computer, in which case it tells me my 48 hours orthos tested overclock fails.

Should add, disabling the overclock doesn't make a difference.

Well this just got a bit more odd....

Just noticed I didn't have the newest bios, so I updated that, and pow now I can resume from standby, but it re-posts on resume, like restarts when I try to resume.
