  1. [SOLVED] Logitech Unfying USB Key No Longer Recognized

    FIX:

In the list of USB ports depicted in the image below, you will notice that USB Root Hub (xHCI) has a specific icon appearing over it, indicating that it is disabled. Somehow during the update from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 this happened, and in order to fix it, one must right click on USB Root Hub (xHCI) and select "Enable" (pretty self-explanatory, but being specific helps sometimes). Don't forget to also try updating it, though mine was up-to-date already.

    Old Post:

I have been using my logitech M510 wireless mouse successfully with Windows 8.1 until Windows 10 installed itself by surprise on my machine (I had been declining each time the window for installing it popped up, I guess I shouldn't have broken form and just closed it out. That, I guess, made it think I wanted my computer to be restarted in the middle of a game. But whatever, it removed the horrendously anti-user start menu of 8.1, so I'm fine with it). Now my computer refuses to recognize that the receiver is plugged in. Device Manager does not display it under any relevant tab:

    As to fixes,
YES, I HAVE tried all other USB Ports on my computer.
YES, I HAVE tried different computers (a Windows 8.1 (which worked) and a Windows 7 (which did not, for different reasons)).
YES, I HAVE installed SetPoint and Unifying Software from the Logitech support page multiple times, neither recognize the device as plugged in.
NO, I will NOT do a system restore (I don't see any reason to if this is my only problem with the new OS).

If anyone could provide a fix, I'd be very appreciative.

    :)

  2. Logitech Unifying Receiver no longer recognized in Windows 10

    Andre,

Just uninstalling KB4074588 worked !! I am over the moon. I've wasted about eight hours on this problem. Thank you so much!

And my next question is, does this mean I must never install KB4074588? Or what? Generally, I do install Windows updates for security reasons. What should I do?

    But mainly, THANK YOU !!

  4. [SOLVED] Logitech Unfying USB Key No Longer Recognized

I don't have a fix, but I use that unifying receiver on several on my PC's running Windows 10, with no issues. It worked even on upgrade installs. You should be able to download and install the unifying driver from the Loitech support page for your mouse. Mine all work without it. I've installed it to link and unlink devices.

  5. I have already installed, uninstalled, and re-installed both SetPoint and the Logitech Unifying software to no avail. I will add this to the post, since I have it in my Logitch Forums mirror post but not here.

  6. I wish I had more to offer, but I don't. It's always been plug and play for me. I just plug it in and it works.

[SOLVED] Logitech Unfying USB Key No Longer Recognized

I have the exact same mouse on my windows 10 and it works fine. So it CAN work on Windows 10.
Now ....go into your Unifying software .....choose your mouse if it shows, then remove it, (unpair) Reboot then go back to the unifying software and choose the Pair option. That should find your mouse and turn it on.
During this process you will need a 2nd mouse...plug-in type .....until your wireless mouse is back to working.
May have to turn the mouse off....then back on to complete the paring of the mouse.

You don't need any driver update software either!!! Everything you need for that mouse you should ONLY get from Logitech!!!
I have no idea what the ELAN input device is, that shows under your Mouse devices either....that also could be a problem, unless you know what it is.

  11. ELAN is touchpad related. Actually, if some drivers are missing, it might have a problem detecting it.
I am concerned seeing Generic USB driver, so either Intel USB or a chipset driver might be needed.

None of the displayed drivers in that program relate to Logitech.
I cannot do what the second link suggests because as previously stated:

I will look into the drivers that the program says are outdated to see if there's a fix in there. Thank you for your suggestion.

  14. It is an update for Unifying receiver, not for devices.
