Windows 10: Some Alt codes are not working

Hi,I use Alt codes a lot, but I've noticed that some of them have not been working for a while. I thought it was a specific app not admiting them, but I've tested if they work in all software that I could and I've noticed that they only start working after Alt+30, and even then, it shows the wrong symbol.Let me explain with an example: usually Alt+1 should be a smily face , but when I type it, nothing happens. The same exact thing happens with all the Alt codes before 30. They either show nothing or create a page jump, but they show no special character. Alt+30 shows a - symbol, but it should

It does do that, mlee. All buttons have tooltips with the alt code and a description listed in it.

The masculine ordinal number in Spanish, Italian and Portugese? I'm not even sure what it is for ... lol

 

No Alt codes working

I've found that no alt codes appear to be working using either left or right alt keys. I tried a few things suggested by an answer to a similar question ( Redirecting
) which has made absolutely no difference.

Other than Alt codes the alt buttons both work normally, likewise with the numpad.

To better assist you with your concern, I'd like to know the following:

• Confirm which build is currently installed on your device. To check, follow the steps below:

1. Press Windows key + R, then type in winver.
2. Click OK.

• Were there any recent changes made prior to this issue?
• What is the make and model of your computer?
• Does the issue happens to all applications?
• Please check if the NumLock is turn on. Also, try using another keyboard and check if the Alt codes are working.
