Windows 10: some applications freeze for long times for no reason

i have been having a problem where apps would take a very long time sometimes 15+ minutes to load, steam is the main one ive noticed however even file explorer has the same bug and takes like a minute to load a folder and my computer just freezes without me being to do anything. my computer is new and has been bought like a month ago, im running windows 11 with a ryzen 7800x3d and an rtx 4070 super and a samsung 980 pro ssd for a boot drive. i need help figuring out what has been causing these problems so i can try and fix them and have a functioning computer

Chrome Freezing Every Time I Open It

Some of the reasons why a browser freezes or hangs are:

• It encounters a virus and malware.
• It has an update that was not installed.
• Other application is conflicting with it.
  

To help you with the issue, we suggest clearing the cache of your browser to optimize it. It can help remove the freezing that you encountered. Follow the steps below on how to clear cache:

1. Open the browser.

2. Click the Toolbar on the browser.





3. Point the cursor to More Tools, and click Clear browsing data.

4. On the box that will appear, click the checkboxes for Cookies,
other site and plug-in data and cached image and files
to delete it.

5.On the Obliterate the following items from tab,
click the drop down arrow and choose the beginning of time

6. Click Clear browsing data.

7. Once the process is done, restart the browser.

Note: If the issue persists, you can try to uninstall then reinstall the browser. However, we highly recommend contacting the provider of the application as it was best handled by them.

Long boot time and passwords missing

The only reason I mention the account is that a Windows update recently was causing people to be signed into a temporary account, your password manager may be installed for all users but the list of passwords would be user specific, therefore the blank password list suggests a different account. *Smile

 

Windows Vista Wont Install Freezes?

had the same problem, freezes and long installation including each step loading, in my case a bios update helped.
