Windows 10: Some files and folders with wrong creation dates.

I'm a windows 11 pro user. I have installed the OS to a new Drive on August 2023, But there is an empty folder called perflogs which's creation date is 6/5/2021 and also there are some files in the windows folder which has nonsense creation dates like 6/5/2021, 2/23/2017, 4/1/2009. Some of those files are win.ini, system.ini, WMSysPr9.prx, mib.bin, WindowsShell.Manifest, TWAINSP_HP.src, TWAINSP_HP.ini. What are these files? are they normal? I scanned them but no malware was detected. Why are the dates of them are incorrect? Please advise.

Files Creation Date

Helllo,
I have several folders with important documents, letters, notes etc. To keep then safe I just copied the several folders to another location (another disc) in the computer. Noticed that all files in the new location got current date as creation date, not as the originals.
Tried some backup programs, but when they backup / copy the source folders / files to the target location, files creation date is changes to current date.
Is it possible to do it keeping the original creation date of the files.
Answers will be appreciated.

Copying down file folders with names and growing dates

To create multiple folders of same name with progressive dates, I suggest you to try the steps listed below and check if it works for you.

• Open File Explorer and navigate to the location where you want the folders to be created.
  
• On the address bar, where the folder path is displayed, erase the folder path and type
  CMD to open a Command Prompt window.
  
• Once the Command Prompt window opens, copy paste the following command and hit Enter:
  
  
  
  for %d in (2019.6.17 Job Progress Pics, 2019.6.18 Job Progress Pics, 2019.6.19 Job Progress Pics, 2019.6.20 Job Progress Pics, etc) do mkdir %d
  
  
  
  
  Note:
  
  Replace ‘etc’ with rest of the dates for the month. (Eg: ‘2019.6.X Job Progress Pics’ where X is the date)
  

• Exit Command Prompt and see if multiple folders are created with the progressive dates on the preferred location.

Files Creation Date

Hi, try using Date Modified - that doesn't change when copied.
Date created = date that particular file was written/created
Date modified = date the content was changed.

Here I've copied the document to New Folder for you.
