  1. Some flac tags are not shown and throw an error when I try to edit them

The file explorer can't show the tags of some flac files, they are all shown as blank. In the past, I could usually fix that by clearing all tags and then adding them again, but this does not work anymore. When I try to enter a tag of such a file using the details pane of the file explorer, then it throws this error:

Some flac tags are not shown and throw an error when I try to edit them 02838bb9-56ca-43b6-84a0-3a4928214275?upload=true.png

An unexpected error is keeping you from applying properties to the file. If you continue to receive this error, you can use the error code to seatch for help with this problem.

Errir 0x8007000D: The data is invalid.

This issue started appearing after installing the last windows update.

some FLAC Tags in Explorer not visible

Several parties need to fix the FLAC tag issues together.

I used WMP+Plug-in to play FLAC for years, FB2000 for convert file and Mp3tage for most tag content editing. I tried various ways to let Win10 WMP display FLAC tag information normally as before. Although it is not perfect, it
really has some improvements. If your original FLAC tag no show, Here are some tips.

(In my case, I use Mp3tage & FB2000, you might like use other tools)

    • Check if any 'Artist' length longer than 31 characters? If yes, add a short 'Album Artist' (less than 31 length) to the Album. Save the tag and you will see the 'Track#' & 'Title' showed.
    • At explorer check if all files Album image there? If not, load the album with FB2000, select all files and force all tags re-Save again. (Use all properties, delete
'Album Artist', YES to save and re-add 'Album Artist' than save again). You can see the Album image now. (I tried Mp3stag to save the album tag, but image no show)
    • WMP FLAC 'date' no show issue. Actually WMP display 'date' by takes <YEAR> metadata. But most tag editor tools support <DATE> only, so we need use WMP or Explorer to edit 'YEAR' to show. I don't know WMP or Tools which one is
right? and who should fix the issue?
    • 'Artist' no show issue similar to 'date', you can only use WMP to edit it. Once you get the 'Artist' showed at WMP (Explore still no), you cannot use other tools to modify it, otherwise the
      'Artist' will be overridden.
It seems FLAC tag has different versions or someone didn't follow the rules. I have no idea who response for what issues? only wish solve it ASAP.

    Hope it help!

  3. some FLAC Tags in Explorer not visible

preantidisestablishmentarianism: It's not really clear what you're still expecting as feedback here, because it looks like you already found a solution to your problem (i.e. re-tagging the files with Mp3tag).

If the native FLAC implementation on Windows 10 has issues with certain FLAC files (reading tags and playing audio according to your report) while other programs have no problems with these files, then it is up to Microsoft to fix their implementation. There
is nothing else I can do to help with the playback issue. For the tagging issue, I can only suggest you to disable the native FLAC tag support (see earlier instructions).

some FLAC Tags in Explorer not visible

I have just checked my brandnew Windows 10 installation (clean install; v1511) and I cannot confirm that there has been anything fixed yet. At least not how the Windows Explorer handles FLAC tags. Definitely no change.

I think they better remove FLAC support completely from Windows 10 rather than keeping the crappy implementation that they offer now.

    Edit:

    @Ehsu99

If 30% of the FLAC Tags still don't show then I don't consider this fixed but simply not useable and not acceptable at all. I have to be able to see 100% of my FLAC tags and not just 99.9%.
