Windows 10: Some games and apps no longer working after Windows update

Recently I installed several Windows updates around the time of KB4601554 and after that, some games and applications have stopped working.Whenever I launch any of the programs in question, they start switching to full screen and then after a few seoncds become unresponsive. The Task Manager lists them as "Keine Rückmeldung" Wich means "non responsive" although I think the actual error message in english is "X has stopped working"I tried everything I could think of, including rolling back the updates, un- and reinstalling the programs in question and making sure all the drivers are up to

Windows 98 and ME no longer updatable...

Quite right, XP is still listed in technet. Win 98 unfortunately isn't. Windows 3.1 and 3.2 are listed though.

 

Windows 10 Game Apps

Based on the error you've received, this seems to be due to corrupted Store cache. We suggest manually resetting the Store app from the Settings menu. Here are the steps:

• Select your account name from the top-left corner of the menu, and then select Switch account.
• Sign in with an account other than the one you were using.
• Restart the game to see if it works correctly.
