Windows 10: Some keyboard keys not working after windows update

Last month I updated my Windows 10. After the update five of my keyboard keys stopped working. I thought this was a hardware issue. But after some days a new update came which I installed and the keys started working again properly.

Now last week I installed the Feature update to Windows 10, version 20H2 and now the same five keys have stopped working again. Both of the times, the keys stopped working immediately after the update so I think this is not an hardware issue but a bug. Please look into the matter. Assistance needed as soon as possible.

Installed RAM 20.0 GB 19.9 GB usable

System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Keyboard shortcut Alt key not working

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Step 1: You may check if the ALT key is functioning correctly in on-screen keyboard. It will help us to verify if there is any issue with the keyboard.

Follow the steps below to open On-screen Keyboard.

  Windows + Q, type OSK (on-screen keyboard)
  
• 
  And check if it works
  

Step 2: Run Hardware and device Troubleshooter.

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your devices. Refer these steps:

• 
  Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
  
• 
  Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
  
• 
  Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.
  
• 
  Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter.

Keyboard Volume Keys not working while in-game

I happen to have used the Tt Challenger Pro keyboard in the past, and the volume keys worked flawlessly in every game, so it's indeed a weird problem. I would suggest the same thing sneekypeet suggested, using the keyboard software and assign this function to a hotkey, but you said that didn't work either, so yeah...

 

Equals Key Wont Work

We suggest that you update the keyboard driver. You may follow the steps below:

• Press Windows logo + X key on the keyboard.
• Select Device Manager.
• Expand Keyboards.
• Click on the driver and click on Update Driver Software.
• Click on Next and follow the steps in the wizard that appears.
