Windows 10: some keys like u,y,h,j,n,m are not working on keyboard

I am not able to type some keys through laptop's keyboard but able to type them through virtual keyboard. Please help.

The keys 'N, M, H, J, Y, U, 6 and 7' will stop working intermittently and I can not find a way to fix it.

Per the title, since two days ago those specific keys will sometimes stop working and I have to use the virtual keyboard to substitute. Looking at the keyboard it seems to be a physical 'area' on it and not randomly spaced keys (the F keys above seem fine however). I have my doubts it is a hardware problem and think it is more of a software issue because of the randomness, it will stop working no matter how hard or how much I press a key until all the affected keys start working again.

I have not dropped my laptop or spilled any liquid on it (recently). I did not have any recent system updates that could have caused it, the last one was a BIOS update a month ago and the keyboard was fine after that until now.

Some default suggestions I have tried are: deleting and reinstalling the drivers, doing a hard reset, troubleshooting, doing a hardware / component diagnostic, putting the BIOS settings to default, running the recovery manager.

It's hardware, the only question is exactly what, since the various other posts about this online affecting some HP and mostly Asus laptop keyboards are inconclusive, with even the same thread often containing several opinions as to what actually 'fixed' their particular version of the problem.

Rather than refence a specific article, I'll provide my search results using DuckDuckGo, though you can try any engine you prefer using the first portion of your own title as I did. I will provide the Asus thread at Tom's Hardware though, since it seemed the most informative of those I viewed.

Based on the posts I read and the suggestions from some in that Tom's Hardware thread, I'd bet it's some sort of signal sensitivity problem with the keyboard encoder chip and cabling in those devices, since it appears to be relatively consistent keys involved, while in some cases simply pressing and releasing various keyboard modifiers like NumLocks, Shift, Ctrl or similar keys seems to stop the issue at least for the moment.

These types of symptoms often mean that either the connector cabling to the keyboard may be slightly loose or mis-seated or possibly, the scanning electronics are simply prone to failure or overly sensitive, resulting in spurious electronic interference or failures that eventually clear up when the interference is reduced.

It's this very intermittent nature that points towards hardware, since hardware becomes 'flaky' as it either approaches complete failure or the edges of stable operation, while software failure is repeatable once you find the precise set of conditions that allow you to force it to occur and stop. The problem with making this determination with modern hardware like a keyboard is that it contains both hardware and software components, so a combination of these effects can occur that make it appear to be software, when in truth the true failure occurring is due to the hardware portions which the software 'aggravates' leading to a confusing set of interactions.

6, 7, y, u, h, j, n, m key not working on Asus Laptop (Laptop Model Asus TuF FX 505D

I do not know what really caused it but i when i press it, it doesn't register. I have tried everything from this post nothing seem to work. Redirecting .
