Windows 10: Some Microsft Store's apps can't be opened, tried many thing but still doesn't work.

Hello, I'm having a problem where I can't some Microsoft Store apps like Photos, Microsoft To Do, and Your Phone (this app is weird because I used to able to open it until I update it through MS Store). I tried reinstalling through PowerShell but no luck. I also tried resetting the app, still no luck. Even after update 2004, it's still broken. Any idea why this happen and how do I fix this problem?

Edit: it looks like this problem is happening to almost any Microsoft Store apps, even MS Store itself

Some Windows Store Apps won't start, tried many things

Alright so I have been dealing with this for months now. Some apps won't open, such as Photos and To-Do List for example. Some do open, like Calculator and the Store opens for me as well unlike some people who reported the same problem.

I have tried pretty much everything I could find on Google but I just can't seem to get it to work.

I am 90% sure this is about permissions because I had several malware that messed up my permissions. I deleted those malware but I think it didn't solve my permission problem. I played around with the permissions to the best of my ability but no luck still.





I tried changing permissions in the registry but failed, I ran Tweaking.com but it didn't do the trick, I tried the whole uninstall-install things for the apps many, many times but it didn't work.

Basically I'm hoping to be able to do something about this without messing around with a reset or format. Any help is appreciated.

 

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)
