Windows 10: Some parts of the Windows 10 interface are unresponsive

Hello,For a couple of weeks, parts of the Windows 10 UI has been unresponsive. It is hard to describe, but it seems like the graphical part of the interface doesn't render on screen. But if I lock my session and unlock it, then the interface updates properly and displays on screen.This faulty behavior only happens with Windows specific UI elements. A good example is the control panel. Windows 10 has 2 control panel: the "old" one from Windows 7 And prior and the "newer" one from Windows 8 and later. The old interface works properly while the new interface is nearly unusable.Here's a list o

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Unresponsive Part on Desktop


hey,

i am posting about a problem i have been having for quite some time, with windows 10 as well as 7. Its rather hard to explain, which could be the reason i came up empty on searching for it, so i'll start with an image:




Sometimes, after closing a full screen application, windows ignores part of one of my screens. the window in that image is maximized. i could put it in windowed mode and drag it over this "dead" part without a problem. however i cannot drag icons there or select this space by leftclick-dragging. i can even see the mouse cursor.

on rebooting, the black part is gone. this becomes rather tiresome though, and i'd like to find out why this keeps happening.

so far i've tried:
- changing desktop resolution
- unplugging screen
- reorder screens in windows
- restarting desktop window manager
- starting and closing fullscreen applications

if anybody has any suggestions, i'd appreciate it
