Windows 10: Some pictures work as desktop backgrounds whilst others don't, and display as a solid black...

The pictures in question are very high resolution, but I have managed to get a 7130x5425 picture to display just fine using the slideshow setting, so I'm not sure if its related to resolution. When I manually set the background in the personalisation settings, it immediately switches over to the 'Solid Colour' setting for these pictures. The pictures have no trouble opening in the 'Pictures' app, nor are they in a different file format than the other pictures that do work. Anyone have any idea what might be happening here?

Desktop background doesn't display pictures instead solid color or blank screen

I cannot set any pictures as background. When I do, the background changes to a solid color. Usually black. I cannot even set Windows images to the background. This just started and I do not have a clue why. I have had the same picture on my desktop for
some time. And now when I go to try and set the background to another image/picture, it switches to a solid color background. Tried troubleshooting various options and nothing seems to work on solving this issue. Please help. Do not want to spend forever on
the chat help line. Thank you.

 

Solid White as a Background

As I can see, no white background appears in the list of Solid colors.

You may google White picture, save it to the desktop and set it as desktop background.

Black Background on Desktop after Windows Edge Update Background picture gone

After a recent Windows 10 update (possibly for EDGE), My desktop reverted to a black background and all my folders were rearranged. I went to settings to fix my background, chose my picture, and nothing. It will not show the picture I chose for my Desktop
background. I have tried all suggested fixes online. Nothing works. Please help. Thank you.
