Windows 10: Some program/ application is stopping me from typing small letter "o"

Few days ago I found that I can't type one specific letter, the small letter "o". At first I thought it is the keboard malfunctioning, but I tried all methods I can search and even plugged in a new keyboard but none of them work. One thing make me so certain that my keyboard is working - I can type the capital letter "O" pressing "shift" and "o" with caps lock off; and while with caps lock on, I can type "o" with "shift" and "o". I also tried "ctrl" "o" in Chrome, the window for opening a new file will pop out normally.Also, I can type "o" in the password box before logging in to my user. Afte

• Which application or program are you using to type the letter?

There's many ways to accomplish this, but one easy way to type a letter in Windows 10 by opening the built-in "WordPad" program.

• Click the Start button
• Type "wordpad" to find the WordPad program (it will search as you are typing)
• Open the program and write your letter
• Click File menu at the top to Save or Print your letter

 

After typing the first letter/number, the cursor stops flashing and nothing else will type in.

As an initial step of troubleshooting, I suggest you to try using the on screen keyboard and check if the issue persists

Follow the steps below to open the on screen keyboard.

• Type on screen keyboard in the search bar and select
  On screen keyboard from the search items.

If you are able to type properly using the on screen keyboard then, it might be issue related to the keyboard hardware.

I suggest you to follow the below steps to run the
Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

  Type Troubleshooting in the search bar and press
  Enter key.
  
• 
  In the Troubleshooting window, click on
  View all option on the left pane.
  
• 
  Click on Hardware and Devices.

  Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions.
  

If the issue persists, using on screen keyboard as well, then it might be an issue related to a third-party application or might be virus issue.

I suggest you to perform a full system scan using Windows Defender and check if it helps.
