  2. Settings are hidden/managed by organization on private computer

Recently i had some malware that changed major settings, I thought I changed them back but just found out if I go to the customize start menu settings there is a red text that says "*Some settings are hidden or managed by your organization". That obviously
isn't right because this is my private computer. Is there a solution that I can do on my own?

    My OS-build: 15063.138

    Version: 1703

    Windows 10 Home

  3. Settings are hidden/managed by organization on private computer

    Hi Espen,

The message Some settings are hidden or managed by your organization usually appears when a user is trying to modify the settings and features with limited access or there could be a misconfiguration during the upgrade.

To address this issue, let's reconfigure your Windows 10 settings. Here are the steps:

    • Press Windows key + S and type gpedit.msc.
    • Right-click on the search result and click Run as Administrator.
    • On the left pane, go to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Data and Preview Builds.
    • On the right pane, double-click Allow Telemetry and click
      Enabled
      .
    • Click the drop-down under Options and select Full, then click
      OK.
    • In the Group Policy Editor, double-click Allow Telemetry.
    • Select Not Configured and hit OK.

Once done, try to customize start menu settings again and see if the error message comes up.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards.

"Some settings are managed by your organization" on a private windows device,

Some settings are managed by my organization?

A long while ago, when Win 10 privacy concerns were new, I ran some kind of utility that claimed to stop like 20 violations with one step. Fast forward to today, and I go to do Windows Update, and it tells me in red font color "*Some settings are managed by your organization" - well, I don't have an organization, I'd just like to get Windows Update back to normal. Any idea how?
