Some USB ports not working and issues shutting down.

I tried to build a PC and im left with 2 working USB 3.1 Gen 2 sockets. Red USB xHCI Compliant Host Controller Code 10

So i have 4 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Blue and 2 USB 2.0 Black ports not working at back panel. 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Blue Ports in the front IO also not working.

Also when shutting down the computer from windows or power button all of the fans stay on with RAM RGB and motherboard lights.

It will shut down if i'm holding the power button down.

From Event Viewer: Windows Logs -> System: Windows failed to start the USB xHCI Compliant Host Controller for the following reason:
Controller reset timed out. Check with your computer manufacturer for an updated firmware for the controller.

    What i've tried:

    -reset BIOS

    -Install latest BIOS

    -clear CMOS

    -overclock the CPU

-removed all USB controller drivers from Device Manager

-updating all USB controller drivers from Device Manager

    -updating Windows 10

    -reset Windows 10

-intalled 2 different versions of intels chipset drivers the latest and the previous version

-tried to install different drivers for USB xHCI Compliant Host Controller

    -changed several power options

    -disabled fast startup

    -tried troubleshooting Devices and Printers

It detected USB xHCI Compliant Host Controller issue Problems with some PnP devices

    PC Specs:

    Motherboard: Asus Strix Z270H Gaming

    CPU: Intel i7 7700K

    RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY RGB DDR4 3200MHz 32gb 4 dimms of 8 running @2400MHz

USB ports not working in Windows 10

    Hello ruthives,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

To address your concern, kindly help us with the below questions.

    1. What is the make and model of the computer?
    2. Do you read any error message when you connect the device to the USB port?
    3. Are you facing this issue with any particular USB port or with all the USB ports?
    4. Since when are you facing this issue?

Your device is kept up to date with the latest features by automatically installing the updates in Windows 10. To narrow down the issue, let's go ahead and follow the below methods and see if it helps.

Method 1: I would suggest you to follow the steps to diagnose and repair the USB ports from the article -

Automatically diagnose and fix Windows USB problems.

    Method 2: Update USB controllers.

    • Right click on the Start menu and select Device Manager from the list.
    • Narrow down to Universal Serial Bus controllers and update all the USB drivers.
    • To update the drivers, right click on the each driver and select Update driver.
    • If that doesn't resolve the issue, I would suggest you to uninstall all the USB drivers from the device manager.
    • Reboot the PC and it will automatically pick for the latest drivers for your PC.

If the issue persists, download and install the latest USB drivers available for your PC build from the
manufacturer's website and see if it works.

    Hope it helps.
