Windows 10: Some websites keep download random files on my computer, last one was .rar and my...

So it's not first time I'm am dealing with such problems.In the past a website has downloaded a .zip file by itself and to be honest I'm not much of a tech guy and don't know much about removing those files.But I believe the anti-virus program has deleted it and that my computer is safe, but today another site has downloaded a file and this time it's locked and my program can't scan it since it requires a password .I am concerned for my computer's safety and I don't know what should I do.

Corrupted file RAR

If the archive has been created using WinRAR, why don't you try WinRAR itself? It has a built-in repair feature for repairing corrupted archive (ZIP as well as RAR). Follow the steps given below:

• Open WinRAR application in your system.
• Now click on File tab > Open or simply press Ctrl+O.
• A small window "Find Archive" will pop up. Locate the corrupt RAR archive from your system directory and select it.
• Now click Open button.
• Click Tools tab > Repair archive or simply press Alt+R.
• Again a small window "Repairing File name.rar" will pop up.
• Now click Browse to select a location to save the repaired archive.
• Check the box "Treat the corrupt archive as RAR" and click OK.
• WinRAR will start repairing of corrupt RAR archive. Once it gets completed click Close.

I hope the above steps will help you repair the corrupted RAR archive.

Okay, this may sound stupid, and I'm almost certain it doesn't work, but:

Can you backtrack a .rar file, meaning finding out from where you have downloaded it?
I have a password secured .rar file, and forgot where I have it from, nevermind the password...
