Some Win10 programs ignore key/mouse events?

This is strange. Maybe someone will understand what the hell I'm talking about. I use AutoHotKeys to remap my windows key, and use Logitech Setpoint to map the middle mouse button to close the currently focused program. This worked fine in Windows 7.

Now with Windows 10, it works "most" of the time. For all program like Firefox and File Explorer and whatnot its fine - when I click the middle mouse button the window closes, and when I click the windows key it does the remap I want. But for other focused programs, like notepad.exe, regedit and compmgmt.msc snapin these events don't work now. The middle mouse click won't close the window and the windows key just acts normal with the AutoHotKey mapping ignored.

Anyone know why this is happening? Its very strange. Its like all Windows 10 program have been recompiled for the Windows 10 release obviously, but specifically these Win10 programs seem to be one step above the internal windows message queue maybe any ignoring these message or not seeing them?

I'm surprised no one else has seen this. Thanks for any input.

    :)

Continuous keyboard pressing prevents mouse click !!!!

After the upgrade to win10 i noticed a weird behaviour of mouse... i thought that was a my mouse's problem so i ignored it for some time. Now i am sure that it is not my mouse's problem but software's one because i bought a new mouse and nothing changed....

    What is that problem now....

While i press any key on keyboard i can not left click with the mouse !!!! It is like "Hey wait, you press key now, stop pressing that key so i can accept and process your mouse click".

I will give you an example to be more specific.

    - example. While playing any game you direct character/vehicle with W-S and A-D and fire with left mouse click right? So when i press direction keys i can not shoot..... I must stop pressing ANY key and only then left click will be working after 2-3 seconds....

Reproduction of problem . Create a new text document, open it and start typing and hold pressed any key ( G for example). Now while "G" (or any other) is pressed left click EDIT menu. Did it EDIT menu opened?
mine is not just highlights. i have to stop pressing the key in order to be able to open EDIT menu (or any other menu).

    How can i fix this?

    It is so annoying....

    Heeeeeeeeeelp

  3. New Win10 upgrade - program hangs/stalls randomly for seconds

I recently upgraded to Win10 from Win7 Pro.

I have installed all of the new Win10 related drivers from the motherboard manufacturer - Asus.

Issue - randomly - starting with a mouse click or keyboard click - the current program freezes. The mouse can still move the cursor around the screen but the program shows no more activity (if multiple keys pressed - only first one shown the rest are still
acquired but not processed). - network activity for the program is also stalled.

At times, windows will display a dialog stating program is not responding - after 5 to 10 seconds - the issue goes away and all is well for some period of time and then it starts again.

I'm not sure how to further debug this issue to see what driver is causing the issue.

Are there any logs that may identify the culprit?

I don't want tp go back to Win7 - but I can't do any work with the current behavior.

    Any debugging direction is welcomed.

    Thanks.

Some Win10 programs ignore key/mouse events?

I suspect that this is to do with Windows 10 using the new Universal Windows Platform (UWP) for the new W10 apps but I'm afraid I do not know enough about the differences to be able to help you further.

That sounds accurate, if there is some new API then that is it. Setpoint, AutoHotKeys and like probably every program like those in the world need to be fixed now actually. How no one knows this is beyond me.

I would not know anything about this either. I never had a issue like that.
