Somehow I have really screwed up my 10/7 dual boot !!

Somehow I've managed to create what I think is a mess with my system after a clean install of Win 10 Pro 64bit on a new SSD. I get the below attached hodge-podge of boot options at bios boot...some of those drives have...or have never had operating systems on them and are only used for storage, etc.

In addition what do the P(x) entries in the bios screen mean or signify...and what's the difference between a 'P' entry and a UEFI entry in the bios ? Also BCEdit reports something on EFI issues below?

The issue is if I start Win 10 from either the Win boot screen or bios it runs fine...but if I start 7 from either the boot screen or the bios boot screen.. .it takes minutes to load and runs very sluggishly. Once I started Win 7 at boot up and it ran fine...but haven't been able to reproduce that one time it ran normal ? I have the current BCEdit...but not sure how to fix this from here or what if anything to change ?

Have current Acronis tib images of both current systems in case I really mess up trying to solve the very slow 7 startup vs the quick clean new 10 startup ? Note: Win 10 runs fine from either Win boot screen (either of the 2 Windows 10 entries ?) or bios boot.....7 runs but runs like a snail from both options.

I have the following entries in my Windows boot screen system start up: (don't know why there's 2 Win 10's - didn't try to create that - but both entries work to boot 10 ?)

    Windows 10
    Windows 10
    Windows 7

  2. I have Dual Booting Windows 7 Ultimate & Windows 8.1 Pro, Is upgrading my windows 8.1 Pro to Windows 10 will erase Windows 7 ?

I had win 7 and win 10 dual boot, running just fine for several months.

THEN last nite somehow win 7 decided to updgrade to win 10 , even though win 7 was running.

Result was win 7 upgraded to win 10. Now dual boot has win 10 on one partition and win 10 upgrade on other portion. The upgraded win 7 (win 10) is all fouled and does not function. The original dual boot win 10 works ok.

The Microsoft upgrade somehow assassinated my smoothly running system, and I am jumping thru hoops trying to get my win 7/10 dual boot restored from a March 2016 disk image (that I thoughtfully had created while everything was working smoothly). This restore
is currently in progress, and I pray will be successful .. Will find out in a few hours. BUT .. I might jump off a bridge if win 10 again updates somehow to again assassinate my system. It is inexplicable to me that win 10 installs over win 7 when I have
not agreed/selected/opted to upgrade to win 10 while running the dual booted win 7. I don't know how it happened, and I don't know how to prevent it from recurring. Any suggestions?

  3. Dual Boot Windows 10 and Windows 7

Microsoft really screwed things up this time, I think 8 was the first sign of trouble when they did away with the pre boot F2 F8 F12 commands.

I am running win 7 & upgraded a cloned drive to win 10 for a dual boot, the only problem is each drive / OS crashes during first boot then disk scan runs on next boot & fixes some stuff then that OS will run & reboot fine until I boot the other OS then it
    does the same thing.

I have never had issues ruining multi OS on separate drives using the built in bios boot menu like f8 or f12 then selecting the drive but win 10 must screw with the bios or something

I was trying to find a 3rd party boot manager but nothing worked & because it was an upgrade to win 10 I only had the one drive in at the time to avoid damage to my win 7 drive so windows 10 did not install a boot manager.
