Windows 10: Someone is accessing my computer remotely and designated it as a standalone workstation. I...

They are doing this to all my devices. I have a desktop and 3 older laptops. All of them are compromised. Under system info it says it is configured as a standalone workstation these are all my personal devices and should not be managed. When I tried to disable write protection in the registry , the folder was missing for StorageDevicePolicy. I know they are at the least mirroring or accessing my devices because now they have taken away my ability to access any command prompt with administrator privileges. Please advise. Remote Access

1. Follow these steps to disallow remote access to your PC completely:
2. 1. Type “remote settings” into the Cortana search box. Select “Allow remote access to your computer”. This may seem counter-intuitive, but this opens the Control panel
   dialog for Remote System Properties.
3. 2. Check “Don't Allow Remote Connections” to this Computer. You've now disabled remote access to your computer.

Try these two steps and tell us if your issue gets solved. If it does not then your PC may be infected. Use a Good antivirus to remove the infection from your device completely.

 

Early Design of VMware Project

Purpose:
This is a Point Of Sale system in a retail environment. The Point of Sale (POS) software is a Visual Basic program that shares a Microsoft Access database via a shared folder.

Hardware:
One ‘server’ running VMware Workstation Pro
Seven VMs running Win 7
Remote PCs running Win 7 or Win 10
All remote PCs are late-model Dell PCs physically located within 30 feet of the server, connected to a Gig switch using Cat 6 factory cables.

Questions:

1. Is Workstation Pro the best choice?
2. What is an optimal operating system for server?
3. How much RAM for server?
4. Is SSD hard drive(s) a good idea?
5. Should remote PCs connect to server via RDP or Workstation Player?

Concerns/Comments:
The POS software’s design occasionally has difficulty operating via the shared network folders when operating on the LAN.

Initial tests using VMware, the POS software appears to operate with great reliability as the POS database is shared on a local virtual machine.

Of course, the remote PCs need reliable connection to the server

Any other suggestions or guidance is appreciated.

Microsoft Workstation

Within my company we want to utilize the remote access for each computer to aid in tech. Is there a way to purchase the workstation for the company ? Or would it need to new purchased for the each new computer/laptop we have? Where is there a pricing list for something like this?
